Our Beliefs

At First United Methodist Church of Pinellas Park, we are a Christ-centered community shaped by the Wesleyan tradition of the United Methodist Church. Our faith is rooted in the belief that God’s grace is for everyone, and our doors are open to all who seek a place to belong.

Inclusive Wesleyan Theology

We believe that:

  • Grace for All – God’s grace is freely given to every person, without exception.
  • Sacred Worth – Every individual is created in the image of God and is of sacred worth.
  • The Wesleyan Quadrilateral – We discern our faith through Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience.
  • Faith in Action – Faith is not only personal but also social; we are called to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

A Welcoming Community

We affirm and welcome people of every race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, family structure, ability, and age. As followers of Jesus, we strive to live out love that is inclusive, reconciling, and transformative.

Living Our Faith

Our beliefs are expressed in action:

  • Worship that brings us closer to God and one another.
  • Service that meets the needs of our community through ministries like our food pantry, free lunch, and thrift store.
  • Fellowship and discipleship opportunities that help us grow in love and spiritual maturity.

Our Commitment

As United Methodists, we seek to grow in love for God and neighbor through worship, prayer, service, and daily living. We are committed to creating a community where everyone has a place, everyone is valued, and everyone is invited to experience the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.
